Tahiti Bar Accessories

Whether you own a bar as a business, or have one in your home to entertain family and friends, you’ll want to own the accessories to stock your bar with the proper glassware.

Serving a martini in a juice glass, or wine in a beer stein, shows a lack of attentiveness to your guests. The proper glassware enhances the properties of a drink. The large surface area of a good brandy snifter spreads out the liquor or the heavy feel and that certain sound an ice cube makes when dropped into it from just the right height. Other bar supplies such as cocktail napkins, drink stirrers and little umbrellas are also important. All the necessary glassware and accessories are available online.

Tahiti Bar

The Tahiti bar is 60” X 30” with under-the-counter open shelves. The Tahiti bar is 89 inches in height with six feet of head room clearance. There is adequate shelving and counter space under the bar for tools, accessories and liquor. The bar itself can be roofed with grass thatch or palm leaves. Frames for these leaves or grass, and netting to keep them in place should be used. The bar itself can be topped with bamboo or bamboo tiles varnished with a coating that resists water and protects against U.V. rays. This will keep the bamboo from fading and slow down the change in color from the nature green color of bamboo to yellow color it turns with age. The Tahiti bar’s exterior is marine plywood with a split bamboo overlay. The rear of this Tiki bar has shelving and comes with three bar stools.

Tiki Lighting

Creating an atmosphere with lighting is important in a Tiki bar setting. Windows kill lighting for an indoor Tiki bar, at least in the daytime. There is a segment of our population who believe having a television at a Tiki bar should be a felony, even if the only programs shown are South Pacific travelogues or Hawaiian surf movies. Even the dark scenes on the T.V. are enough to destroy the ambiance according to these self-proclaimed Tikiphiles. Some people have been trying to save the atmosphere for years, and then there are the Tiki enthusiasts who live to save the atmosphere of Tiki bars. So intent on that end, they wear universal remote controls called TV-B-Gone on their key chains to switch off televisions in Tiki bars where ever they are found.
